This just in from Steve Crider who is Heading up the LoggerRodeo Event from the Obama Team...

Dear Colleagues:

Here are the details for posting regarding those who wish to participate in the Skagit Democrats contingent in the Loggerodeo: Please Post and Forward to all who wish to receive this!

Event: 74th Annual Loggerodeo in Sedro Woolley, WA

Date: Friday, July 4th

Time: Parade starts 11:00 a.m.

Pre-Parade Rendezvous Time & Place: Gather between 9 and 10 am. We will not know our place in the line-up until the morning of the event, but in general it is all nearby the Sedro Woolley High School and side streets. Loggerodeo Parade Organizer table will be corner of Third and Talcott Streets to provide information & directions between 9 – 10 a.m.

Additional rendezvous point: Katherine Chaplin has offered up her home for coffee and a small gathering for folks, from approx. 8:30 am onward. They live in a historic old Sedro residence at 315 Warner St., just a couple blocks from the high school and general staging area. Will try to post details there on her fence of our staging location for late arrivals.

Parade lasts about an hour & half depending on where we are placed/start.

Loggerodeo Parade Rules:

* Political Groups must be "patriotic" theme.
* No alcohol consumed or carried by parade entries.
* We may pass out handouts, information, etc. as well as candy (but not from a moving vehicle)
* Parade officials will check for safety hazards.

Our Theme: Skagit Democrats United for Progress, Peace, and Prosperity

* Obama and Clinton supporters welcome to join together in a show of unity and purpose for the Fall election. United we stand, Divided we fall!!!
* Other Democratic Party Candidates and reps/supporters welcome to join in, including Gov. Christine Gregoire team, & other state & local races & officials.
* Dress colorful! Candidate T-shirts welcome. This tends to be a very "Red, White, & Blue" type of event – but all creative and fun dress is welcome. This is a very easy going, family friendly community event.
* Participants: Be prepared to sing, make some noise, bring along some musical devices if you wish for joining in a variety of traditional & rousing songs such as "Yankee Doodle", "This Land is Your Land", "Happy Days are Here Again", "Blowin' in the Wind", etc. I'll have some copies of song/lyric sheets made up to pass out. We shall "make a joyful noise" in a positive and spirited manner!
* BE Self sufficient and self contained: Bring your own signs, placards, water bottle, snack, good walking shoes, sunscreen or raincoat. I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER!!! This is an ad hoc gathering so bring your own creativity and resourcefulness to bear – and don't expect others to have done it for you.
* Contact for questions, comments, concerns, RSVP: Steve Crider (H) 360-757-3130; e-mail: stevecrider@amyskitchen.net

Much thanks, Steve C.
